Unless you yourself are a surgeon or a medical professional, it’s easy to get different surgeries confused with each other. Two surgeries that are often mistaken for one another are brow lifts and eyelid lifts. As you age, the skin around your eyes and forehead start to lose collagen and elasticity— leaving you with drooping skin around your forehead and eyelids. Luckily, with either a brow lift or an eyelid lift, we can help restore your skin to give you back a more youthful appearance. So, what are these surgeries and how do they vary from each other? Let’s take a closer look.
What’s a Brow Lift?
Have you noticed that the skin around your eyebrows is starting to droop? Do you have fine lines and wrinkles across your forehead and in between your eyebrows that are driving you crazy? If so, then you may be a good candidate for a brow lift. During a brow lift, the skin across the forehead is tightened to smooth out fine lines and wrinkles and lift up any drooping skin.
What’s an Eyelid Lift?
Rather than dealing with the skin on the forehead, and eyelid lift or a blepharoplasty involves the skin on the upper and lower eyelids. When some patients start to age, they lose elasticity around their eyelids which makes it difficult for them to do simple tasks like reading or even applying eye makeup. During a blepharoplasty, we will remove excess skin and fat, and tighten up the area around your eyes to give you a more youthful look.
