Scott Forman, MD

"I have always had one foot in Traditional Medicine and one foot in Complementary and Alternative medicine. As a University Professor of Adult and Pediatric Neuro-Ophthalmology at New York Medical College I trained both residents and medical students in the details of Ophthalmology, Neurology, Neurosurgery and Pediatrics for over three decades. I enjoyed every moment of that teaching experience. I also won several awards as a teacher and in New York Magazine I was voted by my peers one of the best doctors in the Tristate (NY, NJ & CT) area two years running. During my teaching career, I also published almost two dozen scientific papers and a textbook. I am still an editor of three prestigious journals in Ophthalmology.

A decade ago, I became board certified in Functional Medicine which looks for root causes of disease. I studied Nutritional Biochemistry, including energy metabolism; the microbiome and its effect on health; gastrointestinal health and brain function; and the positive effects supplements and herbs can have on health by helping to boost the immune system and treat infectious disease. This is something very few conventional doctors have accomplished.

I bring my broad education and unusual exposures to many forms of healing to the patient sitting in my exam chair. I listen intently, without interruption; allowing my patient to tell the story they came to my office to tell. I give them the time they need. I consider every patient unique and love challenges. I become an advocate for the health and wellbeing of each of my patients."
